Michael G. Burnett is a graduate of Creighton University (B.A., 1981) and Creighton University School of Law (J.D., 1984). Mr. Burnett is a partner involved in the firm's complex securities, antitrust, and consumer litigation, including: In re Foreign Exchange Benchmark Rates Antitrust Litigation, No. 13-cv-7789 (S.D.N.Y.), Dahl v. Bain Capital Partners, LLC, No. 07-cv-12388 (D. Mass.), Rubenstein v. Oilsands Quest Inc., No. 11-1288 (S.D.N.Y.), In re Aetna UCR Rates Litigation, MDL No. 2020 (D.N.J.) and In re Washington Mutual Mortgage-Backed Securities Litigation, No. 09-cv-0037 (W.D. Wash.), among others.
Mr. Burnett also works with the firm's institutional investor clients, including numerous public pension systems and Taft-Hartley funds throughout the United States to ensure their funds have proper safeguards in place to ensure against corporate malfeasance. Similarly, Mr. Burnett works with institutional investors in the United States and Europe on issues relating to corporate fraud in the U.S. securities markets, as well as corporate governance issues and shareholder litigation.
Mr. Burnett is admitted to the Nebraska Supreme Court and United States District Court, District of Nebraska. He is a member of the Nebraska Bar Association.
