BIO:
Eléonore Buisson is an Associate in Scott+Scott’s London office, specialising in Competition and Securities Litigation.
Before joining Scott+Scott, Eléonore worked in the International Disputes department of a boutique law firm in London, where she focused on cases connected to Latin America. Notably, she contributed to the landmark case Município de Mariana v BHP (“Mariana”), representing 700,000 Brazilian claimants, following the catastrophic Fundão dam collapse, one of the most severe environmental disaster in Brazil’s history. Her involvement in this case began during her Master’s degree at Sciences Po Paris, where she conducted Private International Law research for a Brazilian Professor who acted as an expert witness.
At Scott+Scott, Eléonore is part of a team representing multiple merchants in their litigation against Visa and Mastercard concerning anti-competitive interchange fees as well as developing confidential claims for clients.
Eléonore is qualified in England and Wales and holds a qualifying degree in French law. She is fluent in English, French and Spanish, with professional working proficiency in Portuguese.

- Represented thousands of claimants (including, individuals, indigenous communities, businesses, faith-based institutions, and municipalities) in their case against BHP following the Fundão dam collapse in Brazil, securing the jurisdiction of the English court in a landmark ruling.
- Represented orange growers in a case against Sucocítrico Cutrale Ltda, involving damages caused by an orange juice cartel in Brazil.
- Represented thousands of fishing communities in their claim of environmental losses following the sinking of the Haidar ship in the State of Pará, Brazil.
