Job Summary

Scott + Scott LLP is seeking an experienced Investigator with a native/bi-lingual proficiency in French and English to join the firm’s in-house investigation department. The Investigator will work under the direction of attorneys and will gather facts through witness interviews and open-source research, and prepare reports describing investigative findings.

This position will be 100% remote.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Critical analyzation skills to identify and gather particular case background information.
  • Ability to form questions necessary to elicit required information from witnesses.
  • Make daily telephone calls and pose questions to prospective witnesses while listening for and extracting relevant facts from the conversation.
  • Organize the information gained from interviews and conversations and write detailed reports.
  • 4 + years of relevant experience in fact gathering through interviews and Open Source Intelligence (OSINT).
  • Experience with legal and investigative databases (e.g., Westlaw, LexisNexis, TLO, Pacer, Bloomberg Law, Factiva, etc.).
  • Background in research and investigation, litigation, accounting/auditing, and/or investigative journalism helpful, but not required.
  • In lieu of a college degree, relevant work experience as an Investigator for a previous employer.
  • Must possess native bi-lingual proficiency in the French and English languages.

Preferred Requirements

  • BS or BA Degree required, Master’s degree a plus.
  • Background in research and investigation, litigation, accounting/auditing, and/or investigative journalism helpful, but not required.
