RESEARCH ASSISTANT


LOCATION: AMSTERDAM, THE NETHERLANDS

JOB SUMMARY

Scott+Scott is seeking a Research Assistant to join its Pan-European research and investigation team. This is a position based in Amsterdam. As a researcher you will work on developing facts for Scott+Scott clients and cases, as well as case starting research projects. You will use various research platforms (Statista, BamSec, Company.info, Curia, Pacer, not to mention annual reports and public disclosure documents) and present your findings in succinct memos to your colleagues.

We are seeking a sleuthing candidate who is a self-starter – candidates should be able to think outside the box, approaching research requests with a critical eye, not only addressing the question at hand but also thinking about the “next steps.”

EDUCATION

  • Degree in law, regardless of jurisdiction.

EXPERIENCE

  • A minimum of 1 – 2 years of work experience (ideally within a law firm or corporate legal department).
  • Exposure to financial law, securities law, competition law or the GDPR is deemed an advantage.

SKILLS:

  • English and Dutch language skills are a pre-requisite (German language skills would be an added bonus).
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Experience in fact based research.
  • Experience in drafting and presenting memos.
  • Ability to present and filter research results (tone depending on audience and urgency) in concise manner.
