Blue Shield of California has admitted to a massive data breach, impacting the protected health information of over 4.7 million members. Due to a misconfigured Google Analytics setting, sensitive member data was exposed to Google Ads and potentially shared with advertisers, without your permission.

Exposed Data May Include:

  • Medical claim service dates
  • Provider info Insurance plan name, type, and group number
  • Patient names and locations
  • Gender, family size, and account identifiers
  • “Find a Doctor” search activity
