Prosper Data Breach

Scott + Scott is investigating claims on behalf of individuals whose personal information may have been compromised in the data breach announced by Prosper Marketplace Inc. and Prosper Funding LLC (“Prosper”).

In September, 2025, Prosper reported in an SEC filing that customers and/or applicants personal information- including Social Security Numbers- had been disclosed in a data breach of Prosper’s systems.  On October 15, it was reported that the data breach affected as many as 17.6 million people.  According to Prosper itself, “[w]e have evidence that confidential, proprietary, and personal information, including Social Security numbers, was obtained, including through unauthorized queries made on Company databases that store customer and applicant data.”

While the full impact of this data breach is still under investigation, Scott+Scott is dedicated to helping individuals whose personal data may have been compromised. We have successfully assisted hundreds of individuals impacted by data breaches and theft of personal information.
