Erin Green Comite Recognized as Partner of the Year

COLCHESTER, CT — We are pleased to announce that Colchester-based Partner Erin Green Comite has been recognized as Partner of the Year by Law.com’s New England Legal Awards.

Ms. Comite has served in leadership roles in numerous consumer class actions and secured settlements or court victories in an impressive number of cases ranging from data privacy litigation to product liability and consumer deception matters. Her dedication to individuals harmed by corporate malfeasance and mentorship of young colleagues make her a true trailblazer of women in law.

Some of her more recent successes include a $95 million settlement in a data privacy case against Apple over allegations that Siri secretly records private, confidential conversations without users’ consent (Lopez v. Apple Inc., No. 4:19-cv-04577-JSW (N.D. Cal)), and class certification of consumers challenging Google’s disclosure of their private, confidential communications without consent (In re Google Assistant Privacy Litig., No. 5:19-cv-04286-BLF (N.D. Cal.)).  Previously, as court-appointed co-lead counsel in First Choice Federal Credit Union v. The Wendy’s Co., No 16-cv-00506 (W.D. Pa.), Ms. Comite represented a class of financial institutions that incurred losses arising out of a major data breach and achieved a $50 million settlement – one of the largest data breach settlements ever reached on behalf of financial institutions.

Ms. Comite also is committed to pro bono service, recently receiving Special Recognition from the U.S. District Court for the District of Connecticut for her dedication as appointed pro bono counsel while representing an inmate in a civil rights case through a four-day jury trial in federal court.

Scott+Scott proudly congratulates her for this truly well-deserved honor!
