Consumer Class Action Filed Against Capital One

NEW YORK — Scott+Scott Attorneys at Law this week filed a consumer class action lawsuit against Capital One, N.A., alleging that the bank refused to pay customers the promised credit card rewards contractually promised to card holders. The lawsuit was filed in the United States District Court, Eastern District of Virginia.

While Capital One at the end of 2024 reported that its credit card holders had earned $9 billion in rewards, the lawsuit alleges that Capital One,  breached the terms of users contracts, cancelled credit card accounts which were not in default and then denied the holders of those accounts the ability to redeem earned rewards on their credit cards. Meanwhile, Capital One continues to falsely advertise that earned credit card points will be redeemable.
