Bio

Lars van Amsterdam focuses on class actions (financial, consumer, cartel) and complex commercial litigation.  He is an attorney in Scott+Scott’s Amsterdam office.

Prior to joining Scott+Scott, he represented and advised both claimants and defendants in complex liability and insurance disputes at NautaDutilh and Eversheds Sutherland.  Mr. van Amsterdam followed the Grotius Academy post-graduation course ‘Onderneming en Aansprakelijkheid.’  He regularly publishes in legal journals and on LinkedIn.

In his spare time, he practices boxing and is an avid runner, having finished numerous marathons under 3.15 hours.

  • Litigated on behalf of the former directors and officers against D&O insurers in the largest Dutch listed entity bankruptcy post WW-II
  • Advised a Duch bank following a shareholder mis-selling mass claim
