NEW YORK — Scott+Scott this week secured the final $19.85 million settlement in a securities class action against pool manufacturer Hayward Holdings, Inc. and its top executives.
The lawsuit originally filed in the United States District Court Judge for the District of New Jersey in 2023 alleged that the defendants had made false and misleading statements about the company’s channel inventory, demand, and sales between fiscal year 2021 and 2022. Hayward’s share prices plummeted as the alleged truth about the company’s channel inventory and performance emerged, causing significant losses to shareholders. In June 2025, the Court sustained these core allegations and then ordered the parties to mediate.
"After complex and hard fought litigation, we’re pleased to obtain this recovery for the Class. This is a strong settlement that will immediately return millions of dollars to well-deserving Class Members," said Scott+Scott Partner Max Schwartz.
The case is: City of Southfield Fire and Police Retirement Systems v. Hayward Holdings Inc. et al., No. 2:23-CV-04146 (D.N.J.) and the class period is October 27, 2021 to July 28, 2022, inclusive.
