Scott+Scott Attorneys at Law LLP, a leading consumer protection litigation firm, is investigating Charter Communications, Inc. (“Charter”) with services branded as Spectrum, one of the largest telecommunications and broadband providers in the United States, serving more than 32 million customers across more than 40 states, for its failure to protect customers’ personal information resulting in a cybersecurity incident (the “Data Breach”) that occurred on or around April 1, 2026, and was first made public on May 27, 2026. The notorious hacking group ShinyHunters has claimed responsibility for the breach, alleging it gained access to Charter’s systems through a voice phishing (“Vishing”) attack that compromised an employee’s Microsoft Entra account, which was then used to access the company’s Salesforce instance.
This Data Breach may have exposed sensitive personal information of up to 40 million customers, including names, email addresses, home addresses, phone numbers, plan information, customer proprietary network information (“CPNI”), and customer support ticket data.
While the full impact of this data breach is still under investigation, Scott+Scott is dedicated to helping individuals whose personal information may have been compromised. We have successfully assisted hundreds of consumers impacted by data breaches and theft of personal information.
